As a child, Matti spent every day playing football on street pitches and local fields. Early on, he realized he wanted to turn his hobby into something more. At the age of 11, he got the opportunity to join the Bundesliga Academy of Rot-Weiß Erfurt, marking the first big step in his football
Pro Contract 3rd Division
Over the years in the academy, Matti matured into a leader within his age group. At 17, his hard work paid off when he signed his first professional contract in the 3rd Division, while also completing his high school diploma (Abitur).
Taking a Step Back
One valuable lesson in football is that it’s not always an upward journey. Matti found himself playing in the 6th Division while simultaneously starting his studies in Sports Management.
Two Steps Ahead
He made a fresh start in football and achieved promotion twice with his team Wacker Nordhausen, returning to professional football.
Bundesliga Academy
To gain new experiences and insights within a Bundesliga team, Matti joined the SC Freiburg second team. There, he also had the opportunity to train with the first Bundesliga squad several times.
2. Bundesliga Experience
Afterward, Matti joined Greuther Fürth and made appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga. His debut was slightly unfortunate, ending with a red card, but it remains an experience that no one can ever take away from him.
The Personal Highlight
Matti had his personal best time at Chemnitzer FC. In the 3rd Division and DFB-Pokal matches, he had the chance to play with and against current Bundesliga and national team players.
New Paths
Due to a serious injury, Matti ended his professional career after his time at FC Carl Zeiss Jena. He subsequently obtained the FIFA Agent License and now helps players on their journey in football.
